2 day group workshop taught by Jess Vastola and Dawn Potter
Location: Buffalo, New York - Hosted by Jess Vastola
Come join Jess and Dawn for two fun filled days of learning and shooting. This STUDIO LIGHT group workshop will cover lighting, equipment and settings, styling, posing, shooting angles, wrapping, editing, business and so much more!
We will work with 2+ newborn models. The day will begin with Dawn's newborn+family posing flow and simple newborn wrapping techniques to keep babies calm while posing with siblings. We will then jump into beanbag posing. Jess will go over her beanbag posing flow where you will learn to pose and light to the left, camera settings and lighting techniques so you can learn to get the best images straight out of camera. We will break for lunch and come back to our third model where Dawn will go over her beanbag posing flow and this time, you will learn to pose and light to your right! Throughout both days, you will be able to shoot along and use those images in your own portfolios.
We will have 2+ newborn models. Dawn and Jess will take turns showing you their favorite wrapping techniques. You will learn the potato sack pose and various transitions from this pose to maximize your newborn galleries with minimal interruption to the baby. This is especially helpful for newborns who are awake or fussy. We will then break for lunch. After lunch, Jess will take you through her prop styling posing workflow. We will end the day with a post processing segment from both Jess and Dawn.
After the workshop, you will be added to both Jess and Dawn's online mentoring groups for continued guidance and support.
Lunch and snacks are included in the tuition.
Transportation and accommodations are not included.
Workshops are not available to those who are currently mentoring. Additionally, we ask each student to refrain from teaching for a minimum of one year post workshop.
